At least 39 people were injured in Dimona, home to a nuclear facility in southern Israel, following a barrage of missiles launched from Iran, Israeli media reported on Saturday.
Iranian state TV has said the attack was a “response” to an earlier attack on its Natanz nuclear site. There was “no leakage of radioactive materials reported” in Iran, however, according to local media.
The Israeli army confirmed “a direct impact of an Iranian missile” on a building in the city that houses a nuclear research facility, AFP reported.
The IDF has said it is investigating the failure to intercept the Iranian ballistic missile that struck Dimona.
