Iran launches new strikes against Israel, US to profit most from oil crisis: Live Updates

The IRGC says a new wave of missile attacks included its first use of the Sejjil strategic missile

Iran has launched a new wave of missile strikes against Israeli-linked targets, according to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The attacks reportedly targeted sites connected to Israeli air operations and military infrastructure.

In a statement cited by Tasnim News Agency, the IRGC said the strikes involved several types of ballistic missiles, including Khorramshahr missiles with two-ton warheads, Kheibar Shekan, Qadr, and Emad. The corps added that the Sejjil solid-fuel strategic missile was used for the first time in the current campaign.

According to the statement, the missiles were aimed at command and decision-making centers, defense-industry infrastructure, and locations where Israeli forces were gathered, which the IRGC described as targets in the “heart of the occupied territories.”

Imminent collapse or primed for a long war? The experts weigh in on Iran’s prospects
  • Iran’s Kharg Island was “totally demolished,” but “we may hit it a few more times just for fun,” US President Donald Trump has stated, raising fears of a deeper shock to global energy supplies if the infrastructure on Iran’s main oil export hub is damaged.

  • Trump demanded earlier in the day that China, Japan, and other nations relying on oil shipments through the strategic Strait of Hormuz deploy their naval units to protect maritime traffic. Iran says the waterway remains open and safe to pass – but only to friendly nations.

  • Tehran mocked Washington for “begging” for help, after its security umbrella promised to regional allies has “proven to be full of holes.” Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi urged neighboring states hosting US military bases to “expel foreign aggressors,” who are “inviting rather than deterring trouble.”
